Tuesday 26 November 2002

“It is I; don’t be afraid.”
Wednesday 27 November 2002
John 6:26-27
“I tell you the truth, you are looking for me, not because you saw miraculous
signs but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. Do not work for food
that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of
Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”
Thursday 28 November 2002

Friday 29 November 2002
John 6:32-33

but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread
of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
Monday 2 December 2002
John 6:35-36
“I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he
who believes in me will never be thirsty. But as I told you, you have seen
me and still you do not believe.
Tuesday 3 December 2002
John 6:37
All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.
Wed 4 December 2002
John 6:38-40
For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of
him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose
none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For
my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him
shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”
Thursday 5 December 2002
John 6:41-44
“I am the bread that came down from heaven. “I came down from heaven”?
Stop grumbling among yourselves, No one can come to me unless the Father
who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.
Friday 6 December 2002
John 6:45-46
It is written in the Prophets: ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Everyone
who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me. No one has seen
the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father.
Monday 9 December 2002
John 6:47
I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life.
Tuesday 10 December 2002
John 6:48-51
I am the bread of life. Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert, yet
they died. But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which a man
may eat and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If
anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh,
which I will give for the life of the world.”
Wednesday 11 December 2002
John 6:53-58
“I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink
his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood
has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is
real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my
blood remains in me, and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and
I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because
of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your forefathers ate
manna and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live forever.”
Thursday 12 December 2002
John 6:61-63
“Does this offend you? What if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he
was before! The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words
I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.”
Friday 13 December 2002
John 6:64-65
“Yet there are some of you who do not believe. This is why I told you that
no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled him.”
Monday 16 December 2002
John 6:67
“You do not want to leave too, do you?”
Tuesday 17 December 2002
John 6:70
“Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!”
Wednesday 18 December 2002
John 7:6-8
“The right time for me has not yet come; for you any time is right. The world
cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that what it does is evil.
You go to the Feast. I am not yet going up to this Feast, because for me
the right time has not yet come.”
Thursday 19 December 2002
John 7:16-18
“My teaching is not my own. It comes from him who sent me. If anyone chooses
to do God’s will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from God or
whether I speak on my own. He who speaks on his own does so to gain honour
for himself, but he who works for the honour of the one who sent him is a
man of truth; there is nothing false about him.
Friday 20 December 2002
John 7:19
Has not Moses given you the law? Yet not one of you keeps the law. Why are you trying to kill me?”
Monday 23 December 2002
John 7:21-23
“I did one miracle, and you are all astonished. Yet, because Moses gave you
circumcision (though actually it did not come from Moses, but from the patriarchs),
you circumcise a child on the Sabbath. Now if a child can be circumcised
on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses may not be broken, why are you angry
with me for healing the whole man on the Sabbath?
Tuesday 24 December 2002
John 7:24
Stop judging by mere appearances, and make a right judgment.”
