Graham was born in Mackay, and was educated
in Mackay and Brisbane. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (Hons 2A) from
the University of Queensland. He was admitted to practice as a barrister in 1976, and
appointed Queens Counsel in 1989. He is a member of the Office of the Queensland
Parliamentary Counsel Legislation Reprint Client Focus Group, a Tribunal Member of the
Confederation of Australian Motor Sport and a member of his Parish Finance Council. He has
been the Convenor of the Trade Practices Sub-Committee of the Bar Association of
Queensland, a teacher with the Australian Advocacy Institute, and a part-time lecturer in
commercial law at the Queensland University of Technology. His recreational interests
include sailing, golf and motor sport.
